Halberds Need Extras to Top Golden Cranes
The Alloway Halberds beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 12-9, at Crane Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Broderick Sarcoma, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-6 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 runs. Zach Pinyerrel picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-4. Roger Taylor was tagged with the loss. Ryan Dull finished the game for Alloway and earned his 2nd save.

Alloway relied on the bat of José Alcalá to get the win. The center fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Halberds ahead, 12-9. For the game, Alcalá had 1 double and 1 home run in 6 at-bats.

"I like our resilience," said Alcalá.

Alloway is now 41-61.
