Hotspur Reserves Deal Dodos 7-4 Setback
|
Phoenix withstood an impressive performance by Hialeah left fielder Jorge Díaz to defeat the Dodos, 7-4, at Thunderbirds Stadium. Díaz went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. At 46-54, Phoenix is in 7th place in the Silver AAA.
The Hotspur Reserves got a big at-bat from catcher Jeff Oglethorpe. For the game, Oglethorpe was 1-3, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 17th hit of the season gave Phoenix a 6-4 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Oglethorpe told the Phoenix Times.
