Multi-HR Day for Werkman as Polar Bears Overpower Blimps, 9-0
|
The Billings Polar Bears dealt the Akron Blimps a 9-0 loss at The Igloo. Chaim Werkman was the star on offense. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Juan Ayala earned the win for Billings. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing no earned runs on 1 hit, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 3-3. Billings goes to 18-16, Akron to 20-14.
Early in the game, Werkman had a solo home run for Billings. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Polar Bears on top, 1-0.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Billings skipper Ronald Harmon.
