Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Rails
|
The Richland Rails did just enough to sneak past the Billings Polar Bears, 4-3, at Rails Ballpark. Richland pitcher Elisheba Petershwim earned player of the game honors. The 9th-place Rails raised their record to 12-18.
Alje de Gast had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the 14th. The Richland first baseman came through with a run-scoring single to put Richland in front, 4-3.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Richland manager Greg Keys. "It's usually not just one thing."
