Lake Monsters Get Win, Extend Streak to 5
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters stopped the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 8-5, at Thunderbirds Stadium. The Lake Monsters got a big game from Cedric Terriquez, who was 2-5 with a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Lake Monsters, now 59-38, have won 5 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Vermont, had it not been for Curf Pierstisnips, the 23-year old second baseman . Pierstisnips contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Vermont up, 4-2.
In postgame comments to the Vermont Daily, Pierstisnips said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
