Redlegs Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Sacramento Redlegs took Syracuse pitcher Ollie McDaniell's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Stark Stadium. The final score had Sacramento getting past the Starks, 2-1. McDaniell went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 11. Sacramento reliever Tom Warrawong picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Edmund Blackadder absorbed the loss. The Starks, at 38-58, have lost 5 in a row.
Rurik Elhov had the most critical at-bat for Sacramento. With two in the top of the 14th inning, Elhov hit a 2-2 changeup from Edmund Blackadder for a run-scoring single. It put Sacramento in front, 2-1.
In postgame comments, Elhov said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
