Redlegs Trip Starks in Extras

Sacramento got a strong outing from Walt Coffman as the Redlegs defeated the Syracuse Starks, 3-2, at Stark Stadium. The Redlegs now have a record of 44-50 with the win over Syracuse.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Kahutea Eperaima came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Syracuse pitcher Greyfriars Bobby, he hit a 1-0 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Sacramento on top, 3-2.
"We were in it," said Syracuse manager Kenny Billings. "We just didn't score enough runs."
