Ottawa pitcher Jesús Castillo gave the Blimps all they could handle, but in the end, Akron left Nationals Park with a 4-3 win. Castillo allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings. Akron reliever Wiley Washington got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Aki Sato was tagged with the loss. The Blimps are now 12-12, while the Nationals fall to 11-13.

Akron used the timely hitting of Ernest Franks to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blimps on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Franks told the Akron Daily News.
