Rapiers Drop Another One
|
The Durham Rapiers got a superb performance from pitcher Valentyn Hochmiller. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Asheville. The Highlanders won the game, 4-1. In spite of the loss, Hochmiller was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Asheville reliever Michael White was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Finley Berose took the loss. Durham's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Asheville used the timely hitting of Luis Romero to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Highlanders on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Romero.
