San Antonio played host to Marquette at the friendly confines of San Antonio Field.
The Marquette Miners got a sterling performance from pitcher Jeff McDermott, but the BC still prevailed, 8-4. McDermott was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 0-hit ball. San Antonio reliever Lou Cain picked up the win to move to 1-0. Fernando Colón suffered the loss.
San Antonio took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Alfonso Torres stroked a 2-run double to make it 6-4, BC.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Torres said.
The BC sit in 9th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 10-13.
