Athletic Club KC Academy Clip Blimps, 6-5
|
The first-place Athletic Club KC Academy welcomed Akron to KC Academy Field.
Akron got a terrific game from third baseman Donnie Magee. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Athletic Club KC Academy, 6-5. Magee was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ozamataz Buckshank picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-1. He struck out 7 in 6 innings. Kullervo Hostikka recorded his 2nd save for Athletic Club KC Academy.
Oriol Fernández was a prime contributor to the Athletic Club KC Academy win. He went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third with two out, the 21-year old third baseman hit a 2-run double. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Athletic Club KC Academy.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Fernández told reporters after the game.
Athletic Club KC Academy is first in the Menard's AA with a record of 15-6.
