Atoms Come Back Late, Nip Highlanders
|
Carsello Scruggins had a good game, but he could not keep the Asheville Highlanders from falling, 6-5, to the Bethesda Atoms at Atoms Field. The Asheville right fielder went 2 for 2 with 2 triples and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 in the loss. Bethesda is now 13-8, while Asheville is 11-10.
Conor Culver took Gunner Cross deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Atoms on top, 6-5. In all, Culver had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Culver.
