Starks Deal Hotspur Reserves 6-4 Setback
|
The Syracuse Starks downed the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 6-4, at Stark Stadium. The Starks were led by Enrique Rocha, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Chris Hughes in relief. His record improves to 2-8. Juan Escobar took the loss. Geunhye Kyoung got credit for the save for Syracuse. It was his 9th of the year.
Rocha had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 fastball from Juan Escobar, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Starks a 6-4 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Rocha.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Rocha.
Syracuse is now 38-53. Phoenix is 39-52.
