The Hialeah Dodos defeated the Alloway Halberds, 8-2, at Ballpark of Alloway today. Leading the charge for Hialeah was right fielder Gabrio Campoverde. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The 4th-place Dodos have won 4 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Hialeah, had it not been for Manuel Ruíz, the 26-year old right fielder . Ruíz contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Hialeah up, 4-2.
"The vibe's good," said Hialeah manager Nick Allen. "We've got to keep it going."
