Starting pitcher Alberto Ortíz pitched well enough to help the Asheville Highlanders beat the San Antonio BC by the score of 4-3. Asheville has a mark of 8-8 after the win.

Asheville took a 4-3 lead on Don Parker's 3rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Parker hit in the bottom of the 14th, left San Antonio pitcher Shadi Zafar visibly frustrated.

After the game, Asheville manager William Franklin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
