Brewer scores 3 runs, Leads Highlanders to Win
|
Daniel Brewer added some punch to the Asheville offense, helping them outmuscle the Ottawa Nationals, 10-7. In the game, Brewer, who is tied for 8th in the 3AA in bases on balls with 9, went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Asheville reliever Michael White picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Yoshihide Hirata absorbed the loss. Gunner Cross closed the game out for Asheville, earning his 3rd save.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the fourth inning, when the Highlanders were trailing 7-6. Lawrence O'Neal delivered a two-out 2-run single for Asheville, catapulting his team into the lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Asheville manager William Franklin.
The Nationals fall to 6-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2038.
