Ashley Spins Shutout Against BC
In a seemingly effortless performance, Gary Ashley of the New Orleans Voodoo shot down the Philadelphia 1776 BC 5-0 on a 2-hit shutout.

"Gary was just locating so well and using his pitches," New Orleans manager Chase Sims said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Ashley recorded 12 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Philadelphia 1776 manager Josh Swain said in his postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

Ashley has made 16 starts this season, posting 7 wins and 5 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .240 against him and he has 135 strikeouts in 107.2 innings with a 3.93 ERA.
