The Akron Blimps eked out a 3-2 win versus the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Anthony Hood, who captured player of the game honors. Akron has a record of 5-3.

It could have been a different outcome for Akron, had it not been for Ruby Rhod, the former first round draft pick . Rhod contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Akron up, 3-0.
