Patriots Need Extras to Top Rainbow Mermaids
|
Fans who congregated at Atlantica were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Patriots grabbed a win, 3-2, at Atlantica, overcoming a fine effort from Northern Virginia pitcher Eddie Kop. Kop went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Boston now sits at 32-38, while Northern Virginia falls to 51-19.
The result might have been different for Boston, had it not been for Wilbur Davis. The left fielder produced a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 3-2. For the game, Davis had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Davis said.
