Golden Cranes Clip Dodos, 6-5
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Hialeah Dodos, 6-5 at Dodos Ballpark, in part due to right fielder Jody Clark, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 1-3 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Santa Barbara reliever George Eisenhauer picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Richard Osborn shouldered the loss. Earning his 9th save of the year was Roger Taylor.
It could have been a different outcome for Santa Barbara, had it not been for Rocky Zolman, the 29-year old shortstop . Zolman contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the seventh inning to put Santa Barbara up, 6-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Santa Barbara manager Lockwood Rose.
The losing streak for Hialeah has now reached 5 games.
