Martínez 3-4 as Stingers Squeeze Past Kingston Township
The Toledo Stingers grabbed a 7-6 win over the Kingston Township Knights at Cloverdale Legion Park. Toledo designated hitter Alfredo Martínez was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Shawn Stevenson got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. Austin Aries got the save, the 27th for him this season.

Toledo used the timely hitting of Adam Clements to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stingers on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Martínez.

Toledo now sits at 47-57, while Kingston Township falls to 55-49.
