|
The Chicago Silver Sox picked up a win at Silver Sox Park, knocking off the Greenville 84s, 6-4. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Stanford McCain, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Silver Sox raised their record to 31-38.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Alvin Randolph didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Greenville trailing 6-4, Randolph retired Jimbob Ghostkeeper to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Randolph, with a wink.
