Browns Get Road Win, 1-0
|
The Cleveland Browns picked up a win at Ebbetts Field, knocking off the Brooklyn Dodgers, 1-0. On the mound for Cleveland was right-hander Natalino Golaio, who played a pivotal role in the win. Golaio, now 9-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 6, and allowing no earned runs. Bob Christison, credited with the save, is now 6 for 9 in save opportunities.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Katsuhiko Ishihara drew a walk. The Browns went on to win.
"We found a way to get it done," Golaio said.
The Browns raised their record to 55-46.
