Shill Helps Buckhead Cruise to 10-1 Win
|
With left fielder Marcus Shill leading the charge, the Buckhead Bowties defeated the Echo Park Lakers, 10-1, at 5 Paces Park. Shill, who leads the 3L in runs scored with 91, was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice. Buckhead starter Jong-yong Ha was credited with the win after throwing 80 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 6-3. Getting the save was Nand Lal Chaudhary, his 16th.
Buckhead took a 6-1 lead on Shill's 29th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Bobby Roode in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Buckhead to the win.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
The Bowties have an impressive 63-38 record.
