Knights Shut Out Cattlemen
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Kingston Township Knights and the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, Zebulon Vermillion was the difference-maker. The Kingston Township right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-0 win. Vermillion went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 9-2. Earning his 26th save for Kingston Township was John Riggleman.
Kingston Township took a 2-0 lead on Ron Bernard's 82nd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Bernard hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Ft. Worth pitcher Karl Dandleton shaking his head.
Bernard told a Kingston Township Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Knights improve their record to 51-47 with the win over Ft. Worth.
