Rocketeers Get One-Run Win at Brooklyn
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers got a superb performance from pitcher Hermenegildo Beliago, but the Seattle Rocketeers still won the game, 4-3. Beliago was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Dahab Kanda, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 5-9. Seattle now owns a record of 47-49.
Seattle used the timely hitting of Thierry Honoré to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rocketeers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"It was a solid team effort," said Honoré after the game.
