Victory Pushes Dodgers Record to 54-33
|
Ebbetts Field was the site of a tense game between the Buckhead Bowties and Brooklyn Dodgers.
Brooklyn beat Buckhead on the strength of starter Javier Desdin's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Desdin got the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 7.1 innings. Desdin allowed 2 earned runs.
The Dodgers took the lead in the bottom of the second. With two out, Bill Chaundler hit a 2-run home run off Buckhead pitcher Matt Martin, putting Brooklyn in front, 3-0. For the game, Chaundler went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Chaundler told the Brooklyn Daily News.
The Dodgers bumped their record to 54-33 with this latest triumph.
