Stingers Jolt Cattlemen with Late Rally
The inspired effort of Ft. Worth right fielder Francisco García was not enough to prevent a 7-6 loss to the Toledo Stingers. García was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Josef van der Poel, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The Stingers, at 36-44, sit in 9th place in the Third League.

Jesús Morán helped out the Toledo cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs.

Stingers manager TJ Reynolds wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
