Silver Sox Sink Evergreens, 11-5
|
Chicago center fielder Loring Rommel had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 11-5 win over the Portland Evergreens. Rhys Maskell picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-4. He struck out 3 in 7 innings. The Silver Sox now have a mark of 29-36.
Rommel contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Chicago in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 4-3, Rommel took a fastball from Giovanni Mireles and stroked the double to left-center. His 4th double of the season allowed the Silver Sox to leap in front, 6-4.
"It was a solid team effort," said Rommel after the game.
