|
Panama City rode a decent outing from starter Román Mejía to victory over the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbetts Field. The final score was 4-2. Mejía went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-7. The Piranhas improved to 26-31.
The Piranhas grabbed the lead in the top of the fifth. With two out, Petri Kallio hit a 2-run home run off Hermenegildo Beliago, putting Panama City in front, 3-2. For Kallio, it was his 4th home run of the season.
"We take it day by day here," said Mejía, "and today was a good one for us."
