Lakers Slip Past Ft. Worth, 4-3

Ft. Worth second baseman Mario Álvarez had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Álvarez went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, even as Echo Park beat the Cattlemen, 4-3. Álvarez was named the player of the game despite the loss. Corbin Holling earned the save, his 15th, for the Lakers. The slumping Cattlemen have lost 6 straight.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when designated hitter Tomás Muinos, who is tied for 8th in the 3L in doubles with 13, hit a single. The Lakers went on to win.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Jordan Calhoun, the Echo Park manager.
