Grey Wolves Win at Charleston, 3-0
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves faced a tough opponent in Charleston pitcher Melvin Tiburcio, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Charleston Armory by a final score of 3-0. Tiburcio went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Vancouver reliever Quan Shiu picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Melvin Tiburcio was collared with the loss. Sjaak Bonne, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.
Vancouver took control in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases empty, José Román hit a solo home run to make it 1-0, Grey Wolves.
"I like our mindset right now," said Vancouver manager David Krause.
Charleston's current losing streak is now 5 games.
