Ford Goes Wild, But 1837 BBC Win
|
Kingston Township designated hitter Holden Ford pounded Houston 1837 BBC pitchers at Cloverdale Legion Park, but it was not enough to keep the Knights from falling, 8-6. Ford hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Houston reliever Edmond McCord was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Jesús Acosta. Houston is now 17-32, while Kingston Township is 24-25.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder José Pinto came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Kingston Township pitcher Jesús Acosta, he hit a 0-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Houston on top, 7-6.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Pinto told the Houston Today.
