Stingers Come Back Late, Nip Athletic Club KC
|
Toledo Stingers starter Tupac Blanch pitched a strong game against the Athletic Club KC at Pacesetter Park, leading the Stingers to a 2-1 win. Toledo reliever Shawn Stevenson picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. David Rowlingson was collared with the loss. The 'W' lifts Toledo's record to 21-25.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Toledo center fielder Brook Linen, facing Taalay Ibragimov, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Stingers the 2-1 win.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds. "Our pregame was pretty good."
