Browns Reel Off Another Win
|
The Echo Park Lakers got a sterling performance from pitcher Mark Collingwood, but the Browns still prevailed, 3-2. Collingwood was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Tom Holloway closed the game out for Cleveland, earning his 9th save. The winning continues for Cleveland, with the latest making it 11 straight.
The outcome might have been different for Cleveland, had it not been for Esteban Piñeiro, the 25-year old center fielder . Piñeiro stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Cleveland up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We'll enjoy this hot streak as long as it lasts," said Piñeiro.
