Extra-Inning Win by Knights over Stingers
|
Kingston Township beat Toledo on the strength of starter Pete Rhue's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Kingston Township reliever Morris Prinkey picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Austin Aries was collared with the loss. Kingston Township is 6th in the Third League with a record of 20-23.
Kingston Township used the timely hitting of Takenao Wakabayashi to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Knights on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Pete was throwing strikes, locating well," said Kingston Township manager Rayzor Ray.
