Stingers Win at Ft. Worth, 4-1

Toledo Stingers starter Ángel Silva pitched effectively against the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at The Cattle Pen. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 4-1 win. Silva went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-2. Austin Aries earned the save for Toledo, his 12th.
The Cattlemen had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Stingers going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Pedro Serano came to the plate. Serano hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from Ft. Worth hurler Tom Scots. It was Serano's 12th double of the year.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Silva.
The Stingers, at 18-20, sit in 6th place in the Third League.
