Hotspur Reserves Deal Halberds Painful Loss
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves defeated the Alloway Halberds, 4-3, at Thunderbirds Stadium. Phoenix second baseman Terry MacDonald was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Alloway has now lost 6 consecutive games.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the 12th inning. With one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Denny Pickett, hit a single. It helped Phoenix seize the win.
MacDonald said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
