Grey Wolves Top Rainbow Mermaids, 4-1
|
Vancouver and Northern Virginia duked it out at Wolf Den in Vancouver and the Grey Wolves came out victorious.
The Vancouver Grey Wolves got a stellar effort from pitcher Sjoerd Reynoud, helping Vancouver score a 4-1 win over the visiting Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. The save was credited to Damien Morin, his 2nd.
Tied up with the Rainbow Mermaids in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Grey Wolves got a boost from first baseman Johan Kroening. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Kroening saw a 2-2 fastball from Paul Vereen and hit a 3-run home run to break the stalemate and put Vancouver on top, 4-1.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Reynoud.
The Grey Wolves improved to 28-32.
