The Alloway Halberds faced a tough opponent in Pawnee pitcher Victor Heuvelink, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Whips Ballpark by a final score of 2-1. Heuvelink went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Frank Butler locked down his 3rd save. Alloway is in 7th place in the Silver AAA with a record of 33-38.

Had Manny Gonzáles not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Gonzáles hit a solo home run. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Halberds.

"I was a little disappointed," said Pawnee manager Arturo Chávez. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
