Memphis got a terrific game from catcher Alejandro Arizméndiz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Hialeah, 6-4. Arizméndiz was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 1-1 with 4 walks. James McNeil got credit for the save for Hialeah. It was his 5th of the year. Hialeah is now 37-33, Memphis 27-43.
Hialeah used the timely hitting of Iván Vega to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Dodos on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame remarks, Vega simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
