Halberds Get Road Win, 4-3
|
The Halberds had to overcome a good performance from Plymouth pitcher Artie Best to claim a 4-3 win at Plymouth Quarry. Best went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The win was credited to Zach Pinyerrel in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Kong Li took the loss. Frank Butler locked down his 2nd save.
Alloway used the clutch hitting of Broderick Sarcoma to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Halberds the lead, 4-3. For the game, Sarcoma had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Sarcoma.
The Halberds' win now puts them at 32-37.
