Byrd 4-5 in Dodos Win
|
Hialeah third baseman Paul Byrd had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 7-3. Hialeah reliever Sergio Vargas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Adam Garrison absorbed the loss. Hialeah occupies 4th place in the Silver AAA at 35-33.
Byrd had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch changeup from Roger Taylor, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Dodos a 5-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Byrd.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Byrd.
