Portland Evergreens starter Eric Matson kept the New Orleans Voodoo hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-2 win. Matson went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. His record improves to 7-2.

In the top of the first, Billy Dotson ambushed a 1-0 cutter from Sy-ing Tah and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Portland a quick 2-0 lead.

"The vibe's good," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck. "We've got to keep it going."

Portland now has a 5-game win streak.
