Tight Tilt Goes to ParksNRec, 2-1
|
The Syracuse Starks got a superb performance from pitcher Ollie McDaniell. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Pawnee. The ParksNRec won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, McDaniell was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Sherman Harrison picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Ollie McDaniell was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Milton Mathews, his 7th.
Pawnee used the clutch hitting of Silas Givens to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the ParksNRec ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Givens. "Those qualities define our team."
The ParksNRec bumped their record to 33-32 with this latest triumph.
