Starks Prevail, 3-1, Over Santa Barbara
|
The Syracuse Starks got a stellar effort from pitcher Masamichi Nakagawa, helping Syracuse score a 3-1 win over the visiting Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. Greyfriars Bobby converted his 3rd save in 9 tries. Their 21-36 record puts the Starks last in the Silver AAA.
Early in the game, center fielder Robby Young had a 3-run home run for Syracuse. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Starks on top, 3-0.
In postgame comments to the Syracuse Herald, Young said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
