Halberds Raise Rally Flag, Beat Vermont, 4-2

The Halberds faced a stiff challenge from Vermont pitcher Mike Hess, but persevered to claim a win at Monster Field. The final score was 4-2. Hess went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Alloway is 6th in the Silver AAA with a record of 24-29.
Alloway used the timely hitting of Juan Jimínez to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Halberds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Jimínez told reporters after the game.
