Halberds Best Starks in Pitching Duel
|
Alloway Halberds starter Carlos Simon turned in an exceptional performance against the Syracuse Starks at Ballpark of Alloway, resulting in a Alloway win, 2-1. Lex Janssen finished the game for Alloway and earned his 12th save. With the win, the Halberds improved to 22-26.
Alloway took a 2-0 lead on Juan Jimínez's 8th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Jimínez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Syracuse pitcher Dave McAlear visibly frustrated.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Jimínez said.
