The Alloway Halberds defeated the Syracuse Starks, 7-6. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Akke Derksen, who was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Alloway is now 21-25.

Alloway grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, José Alcalá delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Halberds.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Alcalá, cracking a smile.
