Hotspur Reserves Stick Starks with 5-3 Loss
|
Starting pitcher José Vélez pitched well enough to help the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves beat the Syracuse Starks by the score of 5-3. Phoenix, now 19-25, holds 8th place in the Silver AAA.
Jason DeGeorge drew 1 walk for Phoenix. The 30-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off José Ortíz. It was his 24th RBI of the season.
DeGeorge attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
